DataTransformationAdminPortlet

The DataTransformationAdmin portlet, allows for transformations on gCube documents (content or metadata).

When visiting the portlet, the administrator can view the list of gCube collections and choose one as input of the transformation. Once choosing a collection, he/she can view its description bellow.

The admin can also visit the CollectionBrowser tab of the portlet, where he can view the list of the objects of the selected collection and their content.

As a next step, the administrator can choose either the target content type (mime type) that he/she wishes to retrieve as the output of the transformation, or specify a transformation program/utility. In order to specify a target content type, he just fills in the desired mimetype and he can add/remove as many content parameters for this type he/she wishes.

To choose a transformation program/unit, the admin can either browse through the available transformation programs, or search for it. When browsing for transformation programs, the corresponding transformation units for a selected transformation program are listed and he/she can select one of them.

When searching for a transformation program, the admin can view the list of the available source content types and the list of the available target content types and select a type from one or both categories. After this step, he/she can search for a transformation program that satisfies the transformation based on his/her selection(s).

The third step for the transformation information to be completed is to fill in the Output information. The administrator can fill in the name of the output content/metadata collection and the alternative representation associated with the imported collection. Finally, he/she can choose to execute the transformation and whether to create a report or not.
